SURFNEWS.Quintin Ciszek to compete in Molokai Paddle race.
UPDATED
Quentin managed to finish the crossing in 6:51 (under the 7 hours that he was aiming for). This result placed him 3rd in his division.
Held on this Sunday 29th of July in Hawaii, the race crosses the famous Molokai channel (where Eddie Aikau famously disappeared in 1978)... a total distance of 32 miles. Average finishing times can be between 4.5 and 5.5 hours, and Quin has a decent support crew, including Trigger Bros team riders Rick and Drew Baker along to help him out.
The race field contains legendary Hawaiian watermen, professional surfers, and paddle enthusiasts from around the world. Quintin is entered in the marquee divison is the solo prone paddle board - an event famously won by Australian Jamie Mitchell 10 times!
We wish him all the best in his efforts to complete such an incredible event. You can check results at http://www.molokai2oahu.com/
Go Quintin!
