Trigger Bros have a long history of stocking skimboards from the early days of the wooden round boards right through to the latest carbon fibre foamies. We even built foam core boards back in 1987 when all that was available was the "Reflex" boards manufactured by Veriflex Skateboards. Skimboarding has seen a huge boost in Australia in the last 5 years now that we have stock of the best brands straight from the USA: Victoria, Exile and Zap. Here's what we are currently stocking.

When looking for a new board consider your experience, body weight, the beaches and waves you will ride, materials and construction. Technique is the number one thing that will help you catch waves, not a bigger floatier board. Buying a board too big will be detrimental to you progressing. Smaller boards turn better so just run faster!

Victoria

The Plane Wrap features the thinner 5/8" performance polyvinyl core and a distinctive lack of a "finish coat" which gives the board it's name. A lot of people see these boards and believe they have not actually been manufactured correctly (when compared with the standard gloss coats) due to the visible weave but they offer superior strength and reduced weight. Built for the serious skimboarder with Vinylester resin.

The Polyvac is the same shape as the Plane Wrap but features a thicker ¾" PVC core tappered at the nose and tail and E-Glass/Polyester resin and gloss coat finish. These boards are a little stiffer due to the thicker core. Victoria's flagship model for many years.

The Ultravac offers the same pro longer and thinner shape with cheaper materials to give the skimmer on a budget a board that will ride well and won't hold them back. Features E-Glass/Polyester resin with a Polyurethane foam core.

The Foamie is the entry level board with a shorter and wider shape, Epoxy Resin, Fibreglass and a plastic bottom, perfect for lighter weight riders to get into the sport.

Zap

The Wedge is a short and wide entry level board for smaller riders. We only stock them in size Large (49 x 19 3/4 x 5/8) and at those dimensions they are only going to support up to 60kg riders. They do use the high end Divinycell Core (PVC) and have proven to be quite durable. (Out of stock)

The Pro was one of the first foam core boards we stocked at Trigger Bros. and we have had many satisfied customers since. A great shape and solid construction makes this an obvious choice for first time and experienced skimboarders. We stock them in Medium (51 x 20 x 3/4) and Large (54 x 20 1/4 x 3/4) (Out of Stock)

** (Update:Aug 09) ZAp Skimboards no longer have an Australian Distributor which means it is impossible for us to get any new stock in.

Exile

Exile Carbon is the ultimate high end performance skimboard. Ultra light weight, 5/8" core, hybrid rocker, gloss finish. Slightly smaller in comparable sizes with other brands but with a fuller nose and slimmer rail profile makes these board awesome to ride.

Nemo

The Rhythm has been refined over the last couple of seasons and now stands up well when compared with international brands. Constructed much like a snowboard, with an EPS core sandwiched with fiberglass and a plastic sidewall to absorb impact. 3/4" core makes these boards stiff and strong. Sublimated graphics makes these boards stand out from the usual plain colors
