Scratch sent us some info on how team rider and PtLeo Trigger Bros worker Lachy has been going on his overseas surf trip.

I met up with Lachy and James, showed them the breaks, got them some maps and went surfing. Lachy was a bit lucky coz there hasn't been much good surf for the last couple of months and he surfed each of the 3 days he was here. First day we surfed le Penon at Seignosse, 2-4 ft clean fun waves. He had some little shoreys later. The next day we surfed the same bank, same size but a bit wonky. Then yesterday the swell jumped to 6ft plus a little more. We surfed a different bank at the nudie beach. Predominately a left but we both had some good rights off it too. There were some late drops. It was kinda solid but not quite winter swell solid(a different matter alltogether). Still fun, Lachy got one nice dredgy barrel and we both got thumped more than once. Bigger boards would have been handy, Lachy didnt have another and mine was stupidly still in the car.

They then headed off to Mundaka, which is only a coupla hours from here. He may have been lucky this morning as the swell is quite solid, I'm not sure about the wind down there as it swung from Northerly to southerly here, if it was south down there it would've been ok.

He's coming back through here in September so we'll go surfing again. I've surfed the last 6 days and the water is a pleasant 20 degrees ,it should get to 23 in a week or so with the gulf stream. The waves have been ok for this time of the year as we can have flat spells for a couple of weeks .We've had a couple allready with some sneaky 2 day swells midweek which I have been lucky to be onto with Rob. I'm off to Brittanny (North) for a week. Not the best time of the year up there but there is swell on the way and the North Coast could be ok, with most tourists coming here for the summer shouldn't be too crowded.

I am sending a couple of shots ,they're not real flash, I took my camera out with us yesterday but it was too hard trying to dodge the sets. I'll send an update when he comes through again.
