A massive congratulations to Trigger Brothers team rider Joel Wookey on winning the under 18 Victorian Title over the weekend.

Across the 3 state rounds Joel secured a win in very challenging rip-bowls at Phillip Island, and his equal 5th at Jan Juc on Sunday meant the title was secured.

For those of you who frequent the Gunna to Rye stretch you will be familiar with Joel’s exciting approach to our coast’s chunky waves. Lead to the water by father Chad, he is lucky enough to call OPS home and can often be found honing his skills in a solo session at the much-loved wave.

Prior to the Jan Juc state round Joel came in and ordered a lumberjack – preparing himself for the worst conditions he could imagine with our tried and tested grovel board… a pretty versatile quiver he now packs from Trigger Bros – a 6’2 Team-rider model shortboard and his 5’11 Lumberjack. Check out his team profile here.

We are super stoked to have Joel join Piper Harrison from our Junior team as 2014 state champions – Piper had already wrapped up the 2014 under 14 girls title at the Phillip Island event.

Other aggregate results from our supergrom team for 2014 include:
Will Antonie – 10th, under 16 boys
Rip Everett – 7th, under 14 boys
Marlon Harrison – 9th, under 14 boys
Charlie Lucas – 14th, under 14 boys
Max Burton – 18th, under 14 boys

Congratulations also to Naomi Taylor for placing 6th overall in under 18 girls.
