Trigger Brothers/PSC Supergroms 2nd Event 15/12/2013 Report and Results
There were a few missing faces on Sunday when we kicked off our second event of the season in 2-3’ Crunchy Point with an on shore breeze. It must be all the end of the year activities that side tracked some of our regular groms. Anyway I’ll bet that whatever they were doing it was better than long 2-3’ rollers angling across the reef for the competition? We still had a strong turn out though with about 50 competitors including a few newcomers and some old stalwarts returning. There were some great little inside waves for the U9 and U11’s and we saw plenty of good long rides. We also saw some very good individual performance surfing with some high scores particularly in the U13’s and U15’s. Once more it was wave selection that proved the difference with the rides linking up on the inside the key. In particular the hot little group of U13 boys slugged it out in a tight final after posting some high scores in the heats. All in all a great day for getting in the water with the holiday crowds just around the corner.
Once more thanks to all the parents who pitched in, the Easton’s , Fallon’s, Everett’s, Paul and Phil Triggs, Deb Clarke and everyone else who helped when something was needed. Also thanks to the judges and finally the groms for just being there and helping out when asked.
We now take a break until after the schools holidays with the next event scheduled for the 16th Feb. So relax and enjoy the summer Xmas break, get plenty of waves with your friends, stay safe and I expect to see everyone hot to trot in Feb.
