Dolphin Research Institute

Trigger Bros are looking to raise the awareness of the general public towards the work of the Dolphin Research Institute so we’ve put together a small project to help raise funds which will be announced soon enough. In the mean time we asked the DRI to give us a rundown on what they do…

The Dolphin Research Institute is a passionate champion for our dolphins, our bays and our southern coastal environments.

We address this through:

  • Research on our dolphins to understand the issues and propose solutions,
  • Marine education with schools and the community,
  • Pro-actively influencing attitudes, policy and environmental management.

Most of Victoria’s marine species, including our dolphins, are not found anywhere else on the planet — yet most of us care more about marine life in Queensland.  This is a problem because we only protect what we value.

Most of Victoria’s marine species, including our dolphins, are not found anywhere else on the planetOur marine treasures are fragile in the face of coastal pollution, human disturbance and a changing climate. We are a community organisation which takes a balanced and solution-focussed approach.  Over three decades, our passionate staff, volunteers, members and supporters have enabled us to deliver tangible outcomes to legislation,  policy and education which continue to benefit our community and coastal environments.

There is no one else like the Dolphin Research Institute and we need support to do even more.
